Beatrice Leidner "Beady" Mitchell is the granddaughter of Alexandra Leidner, the "adoptive" mother of Benny, and a harbor master in Haven, Maine.
Background[]
She was once married and became pregnant, but lost the baby, and her marriage fell apart as a result. Her husband left her, and started a new family. When she reconnected with her ex-husband, and he told her about his newly born child, her trouble was triggered.
Every single Friday night, she would change into a beautiful woman with the ability to mesmerize men named Helena. She would seduce a man, get pregnant and by the following Sunday she would deliver the child. The accelerated growth of the child is fed by draining the life of its father, leading the man to age rapidly. The father ultimately dies when "Helena" holds the new child for the first time.
Beatrice, as "Helena", gave birth to Benny after seducing Phil Reiser. Then gave birth a week later to another child after seducing Joe Campbell. The following week, she seduced Duke Crocker, and subsequently gave birth to a daughter named Jean. Both Joe and Benny would die because of Beatrice's curse, but Duke was spared since Beatrice and Jean never touched one another. Jean was sent to live with a family in Kansas so she couldn't kill her powers.
She faked adopting Benny to not raise questions at his sudden appearance, It is unknown what eventually happened to her second child, and if she was able to keep both children with her.
Beatrice undergoes her transformations into "Helena" at the Walton Lighthouse, shackled to a railing in order to prevent her from seducing any more men.
She attended the memorial service for Garland Wuornos at the Grey Gull.
