It is not known when Bishop became a member of the Guard, but he appears to be friends with Mitchell and Riley. When the two of them kidnapped Audrey Parker, believing her to be Mara, Mitchell's intention was for her to alter their Troubles to make them more tolerable to live with. Bishop was to go first; unbeknownst to any of them, Audrey was not immune to the Troubles, so she was under a very real threat of being dissolved by Bishop's touch. Before he could touch her, however, Duke Crocker arrived to rescue her. Bishop's touch was used by Audrey to dissolve the ropes binding her; Audrey and Duke then escaped.
