Harold Hastings was the grandfather of Marion Caldwell.
He and his family moved from Coleman, Georgia to Haven, Maine in 1956 after a "freakish series of storms" destroyed their home town. He was later interviewed by Dave Teagues, who wrote an article on the Hastings family that was published in the Haven Herald.

Harold's relation, if any, to George, Iris, or Bobby Hastings is currently unknown.
