The name Morgan was chosen by the writers room because they kept referring to him as Mongo, which is the name of a character from the film Blazing Saddles. Morgan was also original going to be l going be a hulking orderly that would have shown that Doctor Rudy Lusassi was not only crazy but also much stronger.[1]
